About Us

JA Flight Services was started as JA Air Center was transitioning from DuPage Airport to Aurora Airport in 2008 and needed a flight department to meet the minimum standards to qualify as a full service FBO at Aurora Airport. 35 year aviation veteran and current Vice President of JA Air Center, Scott Fank, teamed with an enthusiastic JA customer and pilot, Bruce Jacobs, to launch the flight services division of JA.

Originally started as a part 61 flight school and a part 135 charter company with 5 employees, JA Flight Services has grown be a full 141 Flight School with training ability up to Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) rating and an Aircraft Rental business with six late-model aircraft. The charter company has developed into a partnership owning two FAA 135 Certificates including a managing partnership in Southern Airways Express currently flying 80 flights per day in the Mid-Atlantic and South East, a charter and Management business at Aurora Airport operating Citation Jet Aircraft and a Leasing business owning five Cessna Caravan Aircraft.
