Step 1

Discover the joy of flying for only $199
Our discovery flights are broken into two 30 minute lessons. First, fly in our full-motion simulator and learn the basics of flying an aircraft while being guided by one of our certified flight instructors. Second, fly from the pilot seat of one of our training aircraft while your instructor talks you through the basics of taxi, take-off, flight, and landing. If you like it….. then it’s your first lesson!
Step 2
Apply for Medical and Student Pilot Certificates
The FAA Airman Medical Certificates, often known as "medical," are obligatory for all pilots who serve as pilot-in-command (PIC) or as essential crew members of an aircraft. Although a medical certificate is not mandatory for receiving flight instruction, it is necessary for students to fulfill the solo flight requirements during their flight training. Now, let's delve into the various types of medical certificates, their expiration and renewal schedules, as well as pertinent details about the FAA Medical Exam.
Types of FAA Medical Certificates:
- First Class Medical Certificate
- Second Class Medical Certificate
- Third Class Medical Certificate
- BasicMed
Obtaining and maintaining a valid FAA Airman Medical Certificate is essential for pilots, as it ensures their ability to serve as PIC or necessary crew members while adhering to safety standards and regulatory guidelines set by the FAA.
Step 3
Learn to Fly
Ground School
As a Cessna Pilot Center (CPC), JA Flight utilizes the King School on-line curriculum for our flight programs. Every lesson has an "on-line" lesson that is completed prior to every flight lesson. This program helps reduce the amount ground school required.
Simulator Training
JA Flight Training has a full compliment of FAA approved simulators with the latest glass panel technology. Our all new VirtualFLy training devices can be used towards hourly requirements, savings customers on most programs.
In Flight Training
Our fleet of Cessna aircraft includes newer G1000 aircraft, refurbished Skyhawks and economical Cessna 150's as the platform for our training. This allows customers to choose the right aircraft for the training mission allowing plenty of savings along the way.
Step 4
Pass Written and Practical Exams

As a PSI testing center, all FAA written tests are administered in house at our flight school location. Test results are available minutes after the test is taken.

Practical exams are administered by local Designated Pilot Examiners (DPE's) upon completion of all of our flight training programs.
